The Clean Energy Business Council (CEBC) has welcomed Aldar Properties as a Partner member and will work closely with the organisation to improve energy efficiency. By connecting the public and private sectors, CEBC accelerates the transition towards clean energy in the MENA region. By reducing construction and operational emissions and working with communities to adopt more sustainable standards of living, the real estate industry can contribute greatly to decarbonisation.

Aldar joins the Clean Energy Business Council to enhance energy efficiencyThe Aldar Group recognizes its responsibility to support clean energy transition initiatives as one of the region’s largest real estate developers and managers. It has AED30 billion in assets under management. Aldar will collaborate with CEBC in its Energy Efficiency working group. This will enable us to achieve goals that will promote a sustainable future and support the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative.

In this group, one of five CEBC working groups, government entities, policymakers, businesses, and consumers are actively engaged to discuss policy and create a path for an effective energy transition. ACWA Power, ENOC, Standard Chartered, TotalEnergies, and ENGIE are among the major regional and multinational companies that are CEBC Partners.

In January, Aldar announced an energy management initiative to reduce consumption by 20% across up to 80 of its owned assets. As part of its efforts to make Aldar communities more energy-efficient and eco-friendly, Aldar invested an additional AED25 million in energy retrofit projects in 13 of its residential communities.
